Lovely film .. I used it only once in MF. The grain is noticeable but ok and it most def has lovely colors. The reason I don't use it all the time is the light piping issue with the plastic base see the second shot

Yes, you have to load and unload this Clear Polyester film base in subdue light otherwise you are creating yourself a problem. The same is valid for all Clear Polyester based films like the Rollei Retro b&w (S) Synthetic series, all Fomapan new 120 roll films, Acros 100, Rollei Digibase CR 200 pro (E-6) slide and maybe some more.

Can anyone think why the rest of my negs came back with an orange base, though? Is that also likely a result of the light leak, or the negs not being processed properly?

It has to do with insufficiënt Blix.

Loading in subdued light is an understatement. I haven't used this film, although it looks interesting so I might try it. I have rather experienced multiple light leaks with Rollei Superpan 200, which also has a clear polyester base. In my experience the required definition of subdued light to avoid leaks is night time, in the basement, with no lights on, behind the closed door of my darkroom. 😉

I know about the subdued light thing and I'm pretty sure I loaded in the shadow (beginning of the roll was ok too) and I even unloaded in the dark, still that happend to the end of my film. I suspect the lab ****ed up or my Mamiya had spooled not tight enough (what I can't believe to be the case). I have never had problems with Retro 80s or Acros or whatever other film with clear base.

Yes this film has lovely tonality and grain but loading and unloading is a problem (total darkness). Examples (Fuji GW690):
