So, I picked up one of these cheap on ebay. Looks all the world like a Konica Big Mini to me.
Anyone familiar with it?

So, you are the one who outbid me on that one ...

I've thought "wait, that's BM with top LCD!" but haven't seen it in life.

And that raises a point: is there a web site anywhere with a list of all the alternative names and models and makes for each camera?
It would make the searching for manuals a lot easier.
Regards, David
PS My first reaction was that it was a Konica A4's brother but it isn't on close examination.

Well, it's got a nice solid feel to it, for being small and plastic. I've got a roll in it now, so we'll eventually know if it's good or not.

The camera did its job...most of my shots were very poor though.
It was a pleasure to use and I'd call it a keeper.
Here are a couple.

You are correct. It would be quite handy to be able to track down owner's manuals by searching using an alternate badge.
MOST P&S functions are pretty intuitive, but... On the Olympus Stylus Epic (Mju II), my 1st or 2nd favorite pocket camera, you can spot meter. But you'd NEVER know that without reading a manual -- it's not marked anywhere on the body.
My point is that a manual will sometimes tip you off to some cool function, if you can just find one.
Kinda OT, I guess...

Ambitious, but rubbish
I've got one - I was very pleased with the results. Amazingly sharp lens for a small plastic P&S. Noisy focus though.

I shot a Prego Zoom 90 for a while. Pretty darn nice 28~90 zoom on that thing.

My Prego 90. I almost sold it and then, at the last minute, came to my senses.
And, an image from it.

Looking at this thread again you wonder just how many parts are bought in from sub-contractors and just fitted into a case...

I have one of these too. Great big ol' thing -- definitely NOT pocketable unless you're a kangaroo -- but if you get a bad pic it's likely not the camera's fault. Nice Schneider zoom, as others have noted, and lots of flash functions.
This is another one of those cameras that you really need a manual for. It has a "fuzzy" mode and a "snap" mode, whose function I dare say you'd never guess without documentation.

My everyday point and shoot for the last several years has been the Prego 90. Yes, it has shooting modes you've never heard of and I never use, but that's not a bad thing. I especially like its going down to 28mm.
