Rollei RPX 25 - is rebranded something?

Checking the prices in Euro at Maco today for 135/36 (at a minimum of 10 films):

- Kentmere 100 and 400: 4.40 and 4.40
- Rollei RPX 100 and 400: 4.95 and 4.99
- Agfaphoto 100 and 400: 3.99 and 4.25

Jan says they are all re-packed Kentmere 100 and 400.

But I do not understand the logic in the prices. How come that Rollei RPX 100 is more expensive than Kentmere and Agfaphoto cheaper? Why would anyone buy Rollei RPX or Kentmere films if they are all the same film?

Or is there a quality difference with Agfaphoto films? More simple cartridges?

No, the quality is the same. No differences at all.
Prices are also due to market differentiations and different customer demand. More and more photographers realize that the Kentmeres and AgfaPhoto APX and Rollei RPX and Fotoimpex CHM 100 and 400 are all the same films. So the branding companies have to react to changes in customer demand.

Cheers, Jan

Fascinating! I don't think I've ever shot any film branded other than Kodak or Ilford, myself. Well, I shot one roll of Agfachrome about 65 years ago. It was grainy. Maybe I should try some Kentmere.

I feel you have done and still do the right thing. Look at it this way: buying films from firms other than the big four (Ilford, Fuji, Kodak, Foma) is like diverting money from them, thus unsupporting them.

I disagree. It creates competition and should keep them competitive from a pricing perspective. Having more choices is better for the consumer and the market.

Infact all manufacturers are lowering their prices... :)
No, the fact is that everyone is increasing prices, Kodak will from the beginning of 2020, Adox has already without prior notice. Fuji had and will.
