Raid, actually exactly what's wrong with your SL2000F? These bodies work only well on rechargable NiCd or NiMH batteries. Sometimes if u use alkaline the camera will jam. However not all behave the same to alkaline, some will work fine but it is quite clear that the motor is more powerful with rechargeables. Later models discourage the use of alkalines.

Hi Fuwen,
The main board needed replacement a year ago,and now it is doing it again. I use a NiCd pack and not alkaline batteries. I made sure that this repairman will take care of it if it fails again. I have so far $700 in this camera.
The camera suddenly does not work. Nothing happens when I press the shutter release. I even had the NiCd pack changed professionally after the camera failed again.

$100 cost of a mint but not working SL2000F
$600 repair cost for both repairs
