Hello all,

I just finished restoring a 1932 rolleicord Art Déco. I can't believe what a pretty camera it is and I'm fairly grateful to the person who gave it to me. He'll get the first prints!

Well, I actually havent finished restoring it, so if any of you does have a broken Polaroid, I'd be very happy to empty your broken camera closet!

I believe I didn't process the film (ilford hp5, pushed to 800 in Microphen) correctly, hence some marks on the sides. I should also think about blacking the red window that produced light leaks on the last pictures...

most are there, http://www.flickr.com/photos/66531253@N02/6774979510/in/set-72157629065190972/

with a little avant-premiere here :

Salut
Well done for the camera.
looking at your flickr, you may consider this with what is (presumably) your camera's uncoated lens: use a hood 🙂. Second, try the combination FP4 or Tri-X (or any "traditional" BW film) plus Rodinal 1:100 long stand development. I do that when I feel having shot in adverse conditions, or when on contrasty days / strong light. The negs are much more wet print-friendly.
good luck!

Love the quality of light in the photos, rolleistef. The uncoated Triotars can produce some great results, but I only used mine with colour film.

with colour film! now that gets interesting 🙂 Thanks for your comments. It shows that even though a mirror has nearly come to a state of pure glassness, you still can frame with the camera...

are there any of your colour photos you could show?

I had a look and I finally found something from the Rolleicord II that I had once (about 13 years ago - time flies...) but it is nothing to write home about, really. I'll fetch the scanner in the weekend and scan a few frames.

I'm impressed with the lower contrast "30's" look from the camera too. If I were in your shoes, I would not try too much to modify the look you're getting. It's attractive and even fresh-looking in these ASPH-mad days.

Thanks for sharing.
