Rolleiflex 2.8C pressure plate removal

I assume that in order to remove the very rugged film
guide pressure plate on a Rolleiflex 2.8C I would have to peel the leather off the outside back of the camera. 😱

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Or is there some other, easier, less annoying way to remove it? I have a dent I'd like to push out and it would be easy except the plate is in the way.

Bumpity...
Here's a photo of the dent in question. Right behind the pressure plate. A large soft shallow dent. Doesn't seem to affect anything.
Just a cosmetic issue, but I'm wondering how to remove the pressure plate on it so I can push the dent back in.
