Hm, these are too oversaturated, flashed and post-processed to my liking. Maybe your monitor calibration is a bit off!

A really nice set.
A bit too much pp for me, but it is still easily within bounds and not totally overdone. I love your photograph of the woman with fairy wings, and there is something fascinating about the last image. I think you have trodden the line between 'over the top' and 'just enough' with some skill. I am reminded by the freakish nature of the images and the use of flash of something like (a little bit) Diane Arbus but in colour.

Very informative thread. I was going to comment on the 3D effect of that photo of the couple together, but your "less is more" second posting of it removed much of that effect. Anyway, I like the second version more.
Normally I don't like shots like the last one (the guy w/ the top hat), but I think if you removed that big guy in the background on the right in post, you might really have something there.

Popular style of post-processing these days. I do think that the second version of the couple accentuates the magenta tint to the skin.
The last guy in the first series is steam punk, not Renaissance. I'm surprised he wasn't burned at the stake.

There is not too much Pop at all, I love them!! And that saucy little Wench in the third picture can shiver me timbers any day ;-)

Can't agree with previous poster at all. To me they're the most distorted images I've seen from a FW.
I can't understand using a camera that can reveal all the virtues of film, and then post-processing for the kind of results one could get from any digital file.
Use it for its strengths – not for its lowest common denominator?

Yes, using a wide angle lens for portraiture does have its drawbacks!
On the PP thing, I'm too eclectic to be able to remain in the either the pictorial or straight photography camps for very long.
Here's another attempt at the steam punk guy - not much else I can do without spending lots of time in photoshop. I recognize the need to be more aware of the backgrounds next time or shoot wide open to try and reduce the depth of field more.... All shots were at F8 and varied the shutter speed to overexpose about 1 stop and were on either Kodak Ektar or Fuji Reala.

No doubt Pirate. Lots of shadows and light fall-off at sides of faces are the give-aways

Heavily post processed pictures, but the quality of the lens shines through. I wish I could afford an FW or the earlier model.

I like them all, although I don't think the PP on the last one helps it, your second post at PP on that one is a great improvement. Personally, I don't think they had too much "pop", and it was only the last one which I thought needed improvement, which you certainly did. Good stuff.

I think this is one example where aggressive post processing can salvage so so snap shots. The ideal camera/lens should have been something that can isolate the interesting subjects from the distracting background. I think the FW was the wrong choice; I would use a wide angle only if the background is interesting.
