Found out today that there is a place close by who still develops 120 roll film. They also do prints and high resolution scans of negatives, so I thought I'd try them out with a 120 roll of Ektar 100 that's been sitting in the drawer for a month.

Taken at the Morikami Japanese Gardens (in Delray Beach, FL) using my Rolleiflex FW.

Oh, just what I need, another $3000 object to lust after!

Nice shots. Is that light fall-off in the corners? #1 in the sky looks almost intentionally vignetted a touch, and #2 gives hints of the same.

No, I added the vignetting in post processing using Adobe Lightroom. I also shot these using fill-flash to reduce the shadows & contrast.

Thanks for the comments! 🙂

Ah, that's a releif, that the vignetting is not from the camera. It'd be a shame to spend that ind of money to get a Holga effect by default.

Personally, if you didn't detect this yet, I'm not a fan of this effect. But I can see past that and your shooting is very nice. Your use of the wide angle is well done.

I visited the Morikami long time ago on a business trip to Florida.
As I remember it, it's a lovely and quite expansive Japanese Garden. Part of it was under construction then.

You should use that setup to show off the garden more.

Where I got the photos developed...

Where I got the photos developed...

I usually use Walmart where they develop and provide 3" prints for $1.50 or so, but this time, since I had procrastinated so long, I didn't want to wait the 2 weeks or so to get my prints back. So, this time I checked around locally and fournd a small shop in West Palm Beach called "Magic Image."

They still devleop 120 film and offer all sizes of prints as well as low-med-high resolution scans of the negatives. They're not cheap, but if you need results in a few hours they can do the job admirably. For a roll of 120 C-41, I think it was: develop $5. develop and provide 5" prints $10.80. And high resolution scans (approx. 4400x4400) was an addittional $19.95 (they scan with the Norito? scanner)

Oh, and btw, the cheapest I've see a new Rolleiflex FW are from the overseas dealers where they run about $4300.
