Hey all,
I'm thinking of getting me a Rollie 35 but iv read that you cant collapse the lens till you cock the shutter. Doesn't that mean that there is a good chance that while you store the camera in your bag the shutter will fire and you lose a frame every time this happens?
Couldnt find an answer to this question anywhere so im thinking im missing something here.

When the lens is retracted (after cocking the shutter via the film advance) the shutter button won't fire at all, so you don't risk losing a frame this way.
If you're keen to conserve your film the 35 is a great choice of camera. It's got such a short body you should easily be able to get 38 frames on a roll of 36 exposures or even more, depending on how skilfully you can load it.

I'd worry more about wasting film from OOF shots.

Right, with no rangefinder, that could be an issue for some. However, a 40mm f/2.8 lens has a fair amount of DOF, which I think was the rationale for a lens of that specification, if there was to be no rangefinder.
