Rubber eyepiece?

I have the Aki Asahi felt stickers that cover the metal, but they fall off all the time. The DAG cover looks interesting, as does the SCOOP.

Same problem here with that product. O rings and crazy glue will be my next try.

FWIW, the (much) more expensive eyepiece sticker sold by Cameraquest is much more durable than the Aki Asahi, which seems to need a flat, non-ridged, surface.

That's too bad as it was a good quality product. Another thing that might be worth trying w/the Aki Asahi rings (assuming you still have some lying around) is to supplement the adhesive w/a stronger glue.

Tim's black rubber eyecups look quite nice, I'm looking forward to getting them. Two of them were $85 😛

I bought some thin goat leather, then stuck this to double-sided carpet tape before cutting out an O to fit the metal ring. Before sticking on the protective patch, I cleaned the metal eyepiece with alcohol and a swab. So far, the patch has been stuck on securely for several months, and my glasses are fine.

Any experience using the e-clypse with x0.85 magnifier? I am going nuts trying to use my 35 cron on my M2 to the point of considering an upgrade to the 0.58 finder (or indeed an MP). I've heard the cheap(er) mags on eBay are equivalent to something like tunnel vision. Judging by the precision engineering of all of Tim's other products, the e-clypse 0.85 might be worth a try...

I keep hearing the siren call of the M series camera and one day soon I may have to answer it.

Could anyone tell me if the earlier Ms can be fitted with rubber rimmed eyepieces as seem to be on the MP?

As a glasses wearer, I'm worried about marking my lenses. I've already buggered up my current pair using my Fuji which has just a metal eyepiece.

I got one from Don for my M3. It's the cat's meow. Don't fool around with anything else.

I bought these from Luxecase http://www.luxecase.com/front/php/product.php?product_no=48&main_cate_no=29&display_group=2from Korea but can't for the life of me get them to fit and stay put. Has anyone tried these and if so, how are you suppose to put them on?

They look and are described like another product DAG offers. His screw into the M eyepiece, are made of plastic and shield one's glasses against damage from the apiece.

I think the Rubber Eyecups are better for that purpose. These use real rubber which is soft and can be pressed against w/o concern.

I got 2 for my M6ttls.

Note also, I discovered these will fit the Leica magnifier which has the same threads as the eyepiece.. That's comforting to know with that sucker stuck out behind the body and your eye against it. I was always fearful of being bumped while focusing. That could go into your eye w/o protection.

Being as the rubber eyepiece fell off my magnifier and is now laying somewhere on a San Francisco street I have found this thread informative. Time to track down a replacement

Eclypse rubber eyecup for M

Thinking about getting this eycup for my M. http://matchtechnical.com/eclypse.aspx

Comes in 34 and 42mm.

Can anyone who has used these eyecups give some guidance on how to choose the size. I wear glasses btw.
