Russian lenses : building a database - need your help!

darkavenger - i have one question. here on a fleam market people sell a lot of broken cameras but with good lens. (that is where i get my gear) should i go next weekend and write down all those j-8 which they sell on broken zorki4 and kievs.

That would be wonderful, Srdjan! But you don't have to do it... 🙂 Check well however, maybe you'll find a J-3... 🙂 That's very kind of you to ask this!

MicheldeG : one last thing : what is the symbol on your lens? thanks!

that will be my task for next week. if weather is fine. 😀
i never saw j3's there but i asked some old guy if he saw it. he told me that maybe his friend have it. so ill call his friend tomorrow and find out. 😉
BTW. darkavenger if u need something for ur kiev or some ltm camera just ask me. maybe i can find u that cheaply on a flea market. 😀

Allright I wanted to let you know that I'm now working on a remote SQL database, so during the upcoming one or two weeks I'll be testing all sort of stuff... 🙂

Ultimately one should be able to upload one or two photos for each of his own lens, it'll be possible to sort lenses according to various criterias, and it'll be possible to access a "technical sheet" for each individual lens. 😀

EDIT: pre-pre test page here : http://www.carthago-ltd.com/rldb/test.php

I'm very much looking forward for these developments! 😀

Max,

I think this is a great project you are doing. It will eventually benefit all of us.

However, (there had to be a catch) please do not publish our names or aliases in a public database. Use them for sorting or private access. But please don't let them be seen by the public.

Thank you

Allright I will fix this asap, more probably tonight once I get home, what you see in this preview test is a raw output. The scope is that I'll let it be public and anonymous, but I'll be the sole person updating data. 🙂

here are mines ^^
