Rx1r Focus peaking issues

Is there any way to use the focus peaking on the Rx1r without the 5.9x zoom activating?

I've been through the menu's a few times and can't find any options :bang:

I love this little camera, and would much prefer using peaking in full frame.

any tips?

Don't know about the RX1, but the Nex-5n is able to switch between 4.8x and 9.5x with the same button that turns on magnification, and is separate from the peaking on/off control. That allows for what you're asking about. I would imagine its the same with the RX1.

I think that this matter was fully discussed when the RX1 was released. For a strange reason, Sony decided to 'glue' peaking and magnified view for this camera. (unlike all NEX models where peaking an mag. view are independent each other )
Perhaps a future firmware update will fix the issue, but at present there's no way to overcome the problem.
