Hello,
My dry box is getting full and have to get rid of some stuff to create room for new one(s). Seems like one of the ultra-wides has to go; either the SA21 that can work on my M5 but disables the meter or the ZM18 that allows the built in meter to work. Both glasses are pristine.
SA gives me the retro look where the ZM is a modern design. I shoot 70% film and the rest digital M. Any thoughts to share will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Cheers,
D

They are two different looks. The 21SA screams 60's look - particularly with film like TriX (think Jean Loup Sieff, Raymond Depardon's "Manhattan Out")
Unsurpassed center sharpness and multiple stops fall-off!
The 18f4 is a modern lens, very good performance and even illumination - not the most rectllinear of them all, but very good and particularly good in close.
I would keep the 18f4 as it will work on the M5 with metering - but I have to admit it would be a hard choice - and having both, I would hate having to choose between them!
Of course, you could solve the problem by getting a 2nd drybox and not be faced with heartwrenching choices like this!

That's a hard decision ... Since you mention that you shoot 70% film, I would keep the SA (that's the lens most people regret selling, IMHO 😉) but if you want to rely on TTL metering ...

i've been asking myself the same question - what is GAS?

my current guess is Gadget Acquisition Syndrom.....😕

looking forward to the "real" reply

After knowing what GAS means, I find that it'd have been better if I don't know it.
Too late...
I need some GAS antidote
