California (Bay Area, Northern) Sacramento Beer and Gear

I'll try to make it this time. I'll probably take Amtrak from SF... Mike, maybe I can try out your LTM lenses then? I'll bring my new-to-me IIIf.

Sug, I can pick you up on the way through S.F. if you don't ride the donorcycle. I'll bring my LTM 50s and a Canon 28mm.

The Railroad Museum at 10:00 am it is! If any of you arrive by train, I can meet you at the Amtrak station and we can walk over the Museum.

I'll have my IIIc -- got to test the patches on the shutter curtains! -- w/ an Elmar or Summitar, and the Canon 35/2.8. I may also bring my R3A b/c it's a blast to use w/ the Elmar 50/3.5.

We're always eager to enable GAS, if that's what you're asking, Kevin. :)

I've got a Canon P you could borrow if you feel self-conscious abt your M4....:D

I'll pop the body in the bag for this trip. You're welcome to shoot a roll with it and put it through its paces some. :)

After using my M4 for so long, the only thing that seems weird now when I go back to the ZI is that the RF patch doesn't shift along with the frame lines as you focus. So, as the lines shift down as you focus closer the patch looks like it's climbing up and left in the frame. Not a big deal, but feels strange after getting used to the M4.

Kevin- One of these shoots you have to bring your ZI along. I'd love to have a look at tht finder again.

only if you add a "riff" into mine -- always dreamed of cultivating the thug side of my image, and "riffraf" is at least part of the way there!

Do you mind if we call you K-Raf (San Rafael Kevin) and K-Cruz (Santa Cruz Kevin)?

I'll try to make it out for this. That weekend is a packed weekend for me, if I can toss some responsibilities to the week after then all the better.

Does it still count as a screwmount if I put an adapter over my M?

If I do make it out I'll have to plan for the day by wearing a helmet and gluing the camera to my hand.

I'll be out of town that weekend so I won't be able to join the thugs and screw-heads in Sac Town. I'll keep an eye out for the inevitable police reports afterwords, though.

I'm bringing the portable scanner this time so we can know when the police are around. This crowd is sure to be rough, with K-Raf and K-Cruz having itchy trigger fingers.

Kent, I still have anxiety attacks from when that lady started throwing haymakers at Kevin when he was going through his Bruce Gilden-phase.

I don't think either of us have run that fast since.

The key To the volatile situation wasn't just the Gilden in-your-face flash technique but the Winogrand spasticity that really got the crowd into a frenzy. Since Kevin's display that day I always carry some pepper spray with me when I'm out shooting.

I was thinking we could attach one of those florescent bike flags to Kevins belt to warn Sacramentans of the photographic hurricane that is K-Cruz.
