Roland and I scratched plans for a possible bike ride up, so if I head up, I'll probably drive--even though the train seems like a great idea. Mike that's a nice offer. I might take you up on that, but I have to ask myself, "Can I take 3 hours in a car with you and Kevin?"
Mike are you up here Saturday AM? I'm planning on doing some early AM MF shooting.

That's a good point about being stuck in a car with Kevin and me. Don't know what to say other than we can stop regularly so that you can vent to a gas station clerk or something. I won't bring up Pollack once, I swear. How about meeting Kevin and me up in San Rafael? I can drive from there.
I will be in S.F. in the morning, but not until 10 or so. I need to pick up some stuff to make pork buns for a Chinese New Year party. Let me know where you'll be, and I'll have the Rolleiflex or SWC in tow.

I'll be there, rain or shine. Tucking the "rain camera" in the trunk, just in case.

If the weather is decent and you guys don't mind a little stroll, we can amble up R Street to 10th and lunch at the Fox and Goose or Hot Italian, after finishing up at the Railway Museum. This will take us along the River for a bit, through an interesting variety of architectural styles, and some street photo action.
If the weather is wet, we can do the "beer" portion closer to the Museum. There are some good choices there too.

Ride, dive, shoot.
Ahh. I was going to drive up there with my friend who's much interested in rangefinder photography, but just found out his work schedule just got messed up and looks like we are stuck in SF for super quick shooting only.
Hope I can catch next "Barnack" day out... Share many many photos with us!

Steve and I thoroughly enjoyed having the Bay Area contingent visit us. Weather held up, light was good, lots of cool gear present, and, as always, terrific company. As mentioned, next visit will be in Berkeley (hopefully Randy, Ray PA, Roland, Honus, Sug, and others can join us), perhaps above Telegraph and towards Rockridge-stay tuned. In the meantime, I continue to marvel at the jewel-like qualities of Barnack cameras and the possibility that my trophy queen Nikons and chrome M4-P could actually be used...
Be well, be in touch.

Bummed I couldn't get up there, Bob. Looking forward to seeing the photos you all came away with. I'll be watching for the east bay announcement.

And big thanks to you for beer and the super secret Barnack film loading method. Now I know that BART means Barnacks Always Require Tweaking.
