This company needs a shakeup ... but I also hope they continue making cameras for the people that don't want Nikon, Canon, Pentax etc.
The OM-D is a step in the right direction IMO ... long live Olympus because they have plenty of fans out there.

What's sad to me is how this went on for so long, until someone with enough seniority to make a difference exposed it. Of course, the guilty persons fired him for it. I wonder how many innocent and honest employees attempted to do exactly the same thing over the years, only to be fired for their efforts, until at long last someone with enough seniority to get results finally spoke up.
I've lost count of how many corrupt organizations I've worked for over the years....and nothing gets done about it.

How is the sad? I am elated. They committed a crime. They lied, they cheated and the covered it up. If the company falls it falls. Many people were complicate and complancent. Four may perpertrated the acts, but a lot people willing turned a blind eye.
A sad situation for Olympus, but it had become corrupt... so the good part is a seemingly honest turnaround in management. Will they bring Woodford back as President? Very doubtful, isn't it. And this debacle may serve as a deterrent to other Japanese companies about hiring a non-Japanese President!

Not great news, but perhaps a step in the right direction for a once-great company to regain its reputation. This is about the worst kind of fraud that can happen at a publicly-held company. With at least some of the perpetrators heading to jail, things can perhaps get better.

The OM-D seems to be nothing more than an e-system camera made to look like an OM camera, no?

No, now it is really sad. Now the suicides are starting.
