I sold a small box of 4x5 to a man in Florida. He was so happy.
Just love this emulsion, wish someone would reproduce it.
Best,

That Silvermax is a one way production. When it is finished it will be gone too.
Still haven't tried the Silvermax, but that will be next.
Does the dedicated Silvermax developer really produce better results than, say, HC-110? (I like the way APX-100 looks in HC-110).As several others here already have explained, it is indeed the perfect replacement for APX 100.
I am not able to distinguish my original APX 100 from my Silvermax shots. And that is good 🙂.

Processed one of my last rolls of original AgfaPan APX-100 this afternoon, it's hanging to dry in the bathroom right now. It was an unexposed roll I found in the back of a closet. I had cut the leader down to use in a Leica iiif, a camera I sold years ago. Loaded it up in my F2 and ran it through. Processed in Adinol.

Still have a couple rolls in the freezer, all from a half a dozen bricks I bought back in 2006, (before I knew AGFA was going to go out of business).
Just love this emulsion, wish someone would reproduce it.

Perhaps Silvermax is one of the steps towards a new APX
Mirko on APUG during the introduction of this film:
It uses an Agfa stock of clear triacetate base just like our first coating of PAN 400 did. This helped keeping the price within reason.
We have enough film for about 5 years. After this material is sold making such a film again will probably become very expensive.
Thanks Jan, that sounds excellent - I'll be ordering some this week 😀In comparison to HC-110 the Silvermax developer delivers
- finer grain
- higher resolution
- about two stops higher dynamic range.
Cheers, Jan
So when this film is out of stock around 2016-2017 Impex has to find another solution.
