End of March / beginning of April is cherry blossom in Japan, everybody is going out to watch the blossoms of Sakura (桜). The usual way to enjoy "sakura" is to get together and have a picnic in one of the many parks, which are packed with people sitting under the beautiful trees full of cherry blossoms (花見 "flower watching"). Since cherry blossom is to be find everywhere ... share your photos !

Love these, Gabor! I missed the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon this year, so you have completed my Spring by posting these!

Our Sakura blossoms were very early this year due to the abnormally warm winter and early Spring (3 + weeks early). How was the timing in Japan?

Missed the cherry blossoms in NYC this year as spring stole a march on all of us and arrived a month early. Vermont, on the other hand, is not known for its cherry blossoms. Things have turned cold again and I would settle for green leaves. What a difference 270 miles north makes!

Edit. Gabor! What incredible pix.

Thanks all for the nice comments ! :)

nightfly, Warren, Tin, very nice photos of Sakura !! Keep them coming !

Today, we will have rain in all of Japan and I guess that many of the blossoms will be gone by tomorrow. Nevertheless, cherry blossoms are a beautiful thing to watch !

Thanks, Gabor.

I keep coming back to the thread to look at your second picture. Which part of Tokyo is that? The scene looks familiar, but then again all the canals in Tokyo can start to look the same.

Thanks, Gabor.

Both were taken close to 中目黒駅 (Nakameguro-station) at the 目黒川 (Meguro-river [channel]), very famous for watching Sakura at night.

Lovely photos.

Cheers.

Thanks David !
