Both sides of the Ookagawa river are lined with cherry blossom trees.
Full bloom will probably be this weekend.

Sightseeing boats run up and down the river while the trees are in bloom.

The cherry blossoms are only with us for about 2 weeks.
They have a short but glorious life
People walk along the treelined promenade to enjoy the blossoms while they can


Some enjoy the event with a drink.


Many take selfies


In some areas the locals block off the street to cars and have a block party to celebrate!
