Wow!! Thanks a lot folks. Much appreciated.

BTW, that is not sand, but volcanic ash..for kms around.

We were using two cams..RX100 MK I, and Fuji XT-1 with the kit zoom.

For the pp, it has been run through Alienskin film simulation.

Kindest regards.

David, Doug..thank you.

It is cold, very cold in the night. In the morn, the sun is bright..I mean blistering..but it is still cold. High altitude. Generally, one acclimatizes to the altitude by stopping in Peru for a few days, and then proceed here.

The cauldrons are hot with sulphur ( and what not vapors )..

Peering down one of these has its own hazards...

The vistas, are on a grand scale. The lead vehicle on the top right is far away from the mountain base...

And the ever present salt flats....

As the evening approaches, the land takes on an ethereal life of its own.

My wife walks across the plains..a solitary figure in the grandeur before our eyes....

Now, a confession!!

All these images were made by my wife. And credit is due her for taking up this pretty hazardous journey.

And the photog with flamingoes and the the salt lake..a selfie..
