Salgado Exhibit in Austin Texas

Let me add that the Salgado show at AMOA is partially sponsored by the Austin Center for Photography.

ACP is a fledgling organization that I founded this year. ACP now consists of a core board of excited and well-connected Austinites who share a common vision.

The long-term plans for ACP are quite grand -- and will take years to materialize in full -- our partial sponsorship of this important exhibition is our first step onto the public stage.

Our web site (www.visitacp.org) and e-mail will be online within a couple of weeks. We will be announcing more about our plans and other events in the coming weeks and months.

I invite any RFF readers who may be interested in ACP to write me and I'll answer your questions, invite you to volunteer, and add you to the ACP mailing list.

I've seen the exhibit elsewhere, and it's worth the trip (a trip to Austin is well worth it under normal circumstances, so this would be extra worth it, wouldn't it?). The book is a work of art, but there's nothing like seeing the photos on the wall.

If you can't make it to Austin, the new (Oct. 30) Rolling Stone has a portfolio of some of Salgado's new stuff from Ethiopia, part of his Genesis project. Great photos, and full marks to RS for giving them a nice layout.
