My continued attempt to capture the landscape of Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, UK. I have recently reduced the overall number of images and added some newer ones to, hopefully strengthen the set - it is, of course, an ongoing project.

More on my website here: http://www.chriswaldrenphotography.co.uk/gallery_259175.html

Well, that's a great series of images and, apart from that, they have made me horribly homesick! I'm from Amesbury but have lived in the U.S. for ten years now. Me and my old spaniel used to love traipsing over Salisbury Plain.

Wow what a thrill !
Born and raised in Ohio, USA
I have read a number of books the past few years about the area.
The great book Sarum, Edward Rutherford, Stonehenge - Bernard Cornwell, some Morgan Llywelyn books.
A book called Black Thursday - Martin Caidin about WWII bombers out of England had parts that talked about pilots trying to find the 5 rivers to get their bearings.
I hope to visit some day....

Interesting project. (One of my sisters lives in Netheravon, the other in Pewsey, so it's an area I'm reasonably familiar with.)

Had a quick scout of your website, Chris. Many enjoyable photos but I particularly liked your photos from West Wight (one of my favourite parts of the UK).

Thanks all.

So many people seem to drive through Wiltshire on the way to somewhere else, with perhaps a brief stop at Stonehenge* to break the journey. It's nice to see that there are a few others here who know the place.

* I drive past the Stones twice every day and hardly even notice them now except for the tourists wandering all over the road.

Interesting series Chris. I really like the first one I think it would make a great large print.

Very nice work. Not surprising as I believe I have enjoyed a lot of what you've shared on the forum.

I particularly like "Water Dean Bottom". It's an interesting composition with the trees nestled to one side and below the horizon line. Caught my eye and made me look a few times.
