Over the decades I’ve purchased very few 3rd party lenses. In the 60’s when I got started into 35mm 3rd party lenses were cheaply made and not the greatest optically. I guess in sixty years I’ve probably purchased 3 or 4 3rd party lenses.
Two of these lenses were purchased recently for my XT-3. The first was 12mm Rokinon that was refurbished and purchased from Rokinon. the second was a used Rokinon 8mm for the XT-3. I’ve owned quite a few full frame and circular fisheyes and love incorporating their odd perspective in my photography.
Both lenses are very sharp across the field even wide open. I have absolutely no complaint about performance or build. Flare is minimal, contrast excellent and all functions are smooth. The finish and construction are excellent.
All images are shot with my XT-3 in raw and the RAF files processed to DNG in Iridient X software then processed in Lightroom 6.14.

Nothing wrong with new and I’m not suggesting buying used or refurbished. I was simply saying I bought these as used and a refurb.
I buy refurbs whenever I can because manufacturers don’t check every lens, camera, computer, monitor, printers and such but if it’s sent back to the factory because and is refurbed you know it’s tested and brought up to spec. Every refurb I’ve bought has been flawless and cheaper. Used items are different though. You’re on your own with used.
Back to the lenses, I’m extremely pleased with them and the images they produce.
