Enjoy Life.
It's been a bit since we met up. How about the weekend of the 26th for a few beers, some chatting and maybe some wandering about?

Please everyone, slow down with your exuberant responses! This is overwhelming, I don't know where we can meet that will be able to handle this crowd.

OK... I'll jump in to this raging conversation!

Ride, dive, shoot.
Love to but I've got a product launch really soon and I might well be shooting for the project that weekend. Next one, after mid-May, will be more promising for me. Will look forward to the report and photos for this one.

As usual, Sundays are better than Saturdays for me (work). But then April and May are pretty busy this year anyway.
June? I could do June.
I think. ?

It's the silly season for me at work from now until the middle of June, but I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I was there for four days last weekend (visiting daughter). That would have been fun since you have a photogenic city and it would be good to meet you. Want to move the venue to Bakersfield? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I would be down.
Does anybody have a screw mount lens that they would be willing to let me borrow so I can test my new camera?
I can offer collateral well to your advantage.

Thx for the heads-up, but I forwarded this schedule to BAPC, and a member (Lee Nelson) wrote back that the same BBC film is available on the Internet for streaming:

I saw it last week at SF Camerawork and really enjoyed it. The most interesting info was that VM photographed Salvador Dali outside the doors of MOMA – on a day when "Five French Photographers" were on exhibit inside (Brassai, HCB, Doisneau, Ronis, Izis). It seems fair to assume she was there to see the exhibit and not just to stalk Dali. So this seems to put an end to the idea that she was a 'naive' photographer who grew without influences.
PS - EDIT: another friend emailed that the movie at theaters probably isn't the BBC one - the Malouf one, instead?

Just scanned the thread.
Annoyed at missing the VM film... I'm in the UK this next week. :-/
Any more concrete notion of date and time for a gathering?

Not sure how long the movie will be playing at the Shuttuck.
It was decent, but not fantastic.
But it might still be playing when you get back.
So keep an eye out.
On another note, San Rafael Camera show is tomorrow.
Anyone going?

I liked it a lot, though it doesn't focus on her work – more on the mysteries and contradictions of the little that's known about her life. Malouf makes a good detective story out her elusiveness.

So what's the consensus on the 26th?
E_WOK - I bring ya a Nikkor-sc in ltm to play around with?
