Sandisk 4GB Ultra II Secure Digital (SD)
Has anybody used this on their m8 yet?
I have a bunch of smaller versions and have found them to be reliable and a such would like to stick to the same type.
They are not listed on the Leica list of compatible cards which is why I am asking.

Thanks

It should be fine, the 2 Gb is doing allright in mine. I must admit I cannot see the rationale behind using 4 Gb cards. surely more smaller cards is safer.

i couldn't get the non-Ultra II version to work.

i pulled the battery from the camera after 5 minutes of trying to format the card.

i tried again after formatting it on my computer first. the camera claims that the card is full.

I think the less yu handle the cards the better espechially outside.
I would rather deal with it all when I get home or back to the hotel.
I have not had a card failure since the early microdrives.

Thanks

No Luck With Ultra II 4gb on M8

No Luck With Ultra II 4gb on M8

I have the Sandisk Ultra II 4gb SD card and have tried to use it with my new M8. Just like the other poster above, the camera will not format the card and the battery must be removed to regain control of the camera after a format attempt. When the card is formatted elsewhere, the camera reports that the card is "full" even when it contains no files. In short, the 4gb Ultra II and the M8 will NOT play together at this time.

On SD the contacts are pretty robust compared to CF. No bent pins in the camera etc. I personally would not really worry about changing cards, changing lenses in adverse conditions is a lot worse.
