Georgia Savannah in July, 2013

Nice work, Jeff!!
Did you get time to visit the squares around town? I have a few on film so it will be awhile before I can post them.

Thx Dave.

I do have some shots of the squares. The above was a quick first pass through the RX100 files. I still have to go through more, plus the X100 and M3 -which has a roll I need to finish off first.

Savannah is a wonderful enchanting city. Nice shots everyone.

Coming back home to NYC was kinda rude. Lyn and I loved the slower pace, the calm and the quiet. We came back to Spanish Harlem during a block party and the pollution, noise and crowds was an assault on the senses. In the 5 days we were in Savannah it became clear that Savannah is where we will retire shortly. We met some artists at the southern end of Forsyth Park in a coffee shop, and shortly there after found ourselves in Guy's (Woody's) home.

At a rib eye dinner we met two circuit court judges that sat at the next table. By the end of dinner Bob gave us his contact information to offer his help in relocation since Lyn's academic background is Social Work and Law and her background would be helpful to legal progress in Georgia that is currently being adopted. Bob said, "I'll introduce you to the Govenor."

Leaving Savannah and our new friends behind was hard. BTW if any of you all make it to NYC make sure you contact me: I would love to return some of that southern hospitality. The only limitation is that for health reasons I have to avoid the cold.

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet up with you Cal. But if you're relocating to Savannah I'm sure we will find each other as I go there every 6 months for training.

Excellent! Looking forward to y'all making it down! If there is any way that I might be of help with your relocation, just let me know. As mentioned, I do have family there and I need no excuse to get back!

Thanks for the hospitality. Lyn (Maggie) is already working on my manners. LOL.

We had the opportunity to look at some real estate, and while we were there we did about 10 miles of walking each day. We ended up wandering around enough to know the historic district and ventured out into the Starland neighborhood and Ashley Park.

We really like the Victorian district.

It was a shame that the lofts we saw were sadly broken up into just apartments. In Wiliamsburg Brooklyn we once had a 950 square foot loft with 14 foot ceilings. We loved the huge open space. The building was a burlap bag factory from the 1800's, and our unit was the rear of the building where the loading dock was made into a salon, dining area and kitchen. Four steps down was the big living space that was only divided by two big collums with a sleeping loft over the bathroom and walk in closet. It had Heart Pine floors.

We are not looking for a huge space and already downsized into a 650 square foot luxury apartment in Madhattan. A two bedroom so we could have guests would do us fine.
