Makes the Canon 50mm F1.2 look like a Steal! I wonder what the performance is like.

I had a Nikkor 5cm F1.1 external mount in my hands, on the camera that I was buying, that would have fit on my card ($2,500), but bounced a check. I passed.

Very cool, but for collecting purposes only. Someone is selling the noctilux in mint condition on photo.net for 1825 dollars, which is little more than this, which has not even met its reserve. The noctilux will be faster, and have higher performance as well. A cheaper and probably as effective route would be to pick up one of the manual focus lenses like the Canon FD 1.2L and a manual focus body to use it. Together they will still be cheaper than the fuji, and the 1.2L is an excellent lens -- good enough and small enough to have as your only 50mm.
