I've just received a 25mm SC-Skopar which mounts quite loosely on both my IIIa and on my Bessa R2-C. Is this typical of CV lenses in the Nikon/Contax mount? Can it be adjusted?

I can speak only for the 35 mm in the S mount, and mine fits like a glove.

make sure there is a problem.
both the camera body's focusing helical and the lens focusing helical have to be set to infinity before mounting the lens. if that was not done, that could cause the looseness.

Stephen is right, when I do that on mine (25mm and 35mm) they fit like a glove. It was hard to remember at first for me, coming from Leica. But just like my FTn, I index the lens to 5.6 and everything works much better.
Please let us know if this got it.

Thanks for the quick replies. Yes, the lens is mounted correctly with the body locked on infinite and the lens set to infinite. I went back and compared it to my other external bayonet lenses, of which I have five. This one was very slightly loose in depth (front to bath) - and about 1/16th inch loose in rotation after lock.

Mine is solid... no mechanical issues at all.
