Hi everyone,

I have recently acquired an Oly OMD and I'm wondering if I can scale focus using the distance scale printed on the adapted lenses. I focus this way using my M and I'd like to carry over that technique to M43.

Also, any suggestions on good quality adapters costing less than $100?

Lastly, I have been looking at this universal adapter:

Does anyone have experience using this adapter? The adjustable flange length and universal mount sounds very practical to me, as I have slr lenses of multiple mounts.

Thanks.

If your adapter is good, you can zone focus away. If the adapter does not give correct focus at infinity, then your zone focus will be somewhat off. Zone focus may still be perfectly usable.

Lss beat me to the punch line. But also, depending on the adapter, if u are willing to put in the time u can shimm it to inf focus as well, they usually are designed to focus at inf before the inf mark by some manufacturers.

The adapter from gfoto looks to be potentially hazardous to the lens being adapted given the number of screws needed to hold the lens in place plus it looks like it may be hard to get the lenses perfectly centered w/ sensor..

Personally I would get a dedicated adapter...

Good luck

So if I get an adapter which can focus to infinity, the lens markings will correspond to what's in focus? For example, if I set the focus to two feet on the lens, the focus will really be on two feet for the camera?

By the way, I am planning to use a nikon 28/2.8 AI.
