Scanner Noi?e (Audible)?

I am using a Nikon Coolstan 9000 from a friend. A wonderful device however its LOUD. The constant rattling and buzzing is quite irritating.

How is the noise level of a Canon 8800F or a Epson V700?

I have the Canon 8800F and was scanning last night... The PC and scanner is on the 2nd floor loft, I started the scanning of 10 frames of 35mm and went down stairs. Every couple of minutes, I could hear the scanner at it's loudest. I did pause the first time and thought to myself, "is that the scanner?" I imagine your Nikon is in the same range.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Wander if the noise can be dampened by putting it on a Neoprene pad.
Or perhaps find one of these old covers for a Telex machine that were used to dampen the noise in the press room….
