I'm using Silverfast SE v.6.4 and wanted to know if anyone can recommend the best negative scanning profile for Ektar 100?

Although the software includes a negafix profile for Kodak 160vc & 160uc, in preview scans it appears "Royal Gold 100" may be best?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have received my Nikon LS4000ED last week and was experimenting with EKTAR100 this weekend. The colors were way off using Vuescan, better with Nikon Scan 4 and best using Silverfast Ai with the profile for Kodak Gold100.

After a little search I found in the forum of Silverfast a comment from one of the guys of the company that they don't have a profile for the EKTAR100 so far. :(

new Ektar profile in Silverfast

new Ektar profile in Silverfast

Hi.
Silverfast has created a new Ektar profile which is available in Silverfast version 6.6.1r6. Unfortunatelly for some of us is only available for nikon and canon scanners at the moment.
Cheers!

Ektar 100 is a tricky one in silverfast. I usually just scan with film brand set to <other> and iso set to <standard>. then use the midtone selector to try and choose a color as close to 18% grey as you can in the image. Yank the contrast down in the picture settings, and play with the brightness and saturation to suit.

Import that into your favorite post processing program, and tweak tint and temperature from there.

This picture was scanned and adjusted as described above. Blues, reds, and skin tone look pretty good to me.
