You can vastly inprove the performance of the V750 (or any flatbed) by wet scanning. Here is a p.net article that provides several links to sources and descriptions.
Epson does have a fluid mount for their scanners available. You dont have to buy third party.

That said, I am quite satisified with 35mm on the V700. And I like the fact it scans four strips at once while I can do something else.

So from my test, i feel that DSLR can be closer to a true scanner, so i would like to know why film scanner or drum scanner have better results over flatbed scanner? If i know the reason then i may try to do something that may give me a quality closer to film or drum scanner and better than flatbed scanner, but i have to check out the reason first.
