Luddite photographer alert. So, I'm a film/darkroom photographer. Since my printer broke and I sold my EP1, I have only been using my computer/scanner (iMac with Vuescan and Aperture, Epson 3200) as a shortcut for contact prints and very rough proofing. I'm interested in increasing my participation in the online photo community (yes, my RFF post count is pretty pathetic but I'm hoping to work on that) and would like to start posting scans of my prints. Does anyone have any pointers? Color vs. BW scans? DPI scan resolution? I tend to print small (35mm on 5x7 paper, medium format on 8x10). Should I limit my scan resolution to control the viewed image size? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks. Carl

No need to go it alone. There is a wealth of information in the Scanners / Scanner Software subforum:

Great thread on various scanning methods:

Chris Crawford has a detailed explanation of what he does to scan his film on his technical page:

That's all I can think of off the top of my head... no coffee as of yet this morning.
