I just got at test roll of film back from C-41 processing by HP's snapfish.com. They of course post web quality scans online for you. Since they also offer a "high res download" option, I tried that as well. It turns out to be the same res as offered by Target's in-store C-41 processing, max dimension 1500 pixels. So nothing to write home about. Just thought I'd note these results in case they're useful to anyone. Most folks posting here are using their own scanners, I realize.

I think it's quite a good concept, to only pay for high res, for shots you want to print or whatever, but 1500px is tiny compared to the standard 3000x2000 scans I get from my regular lab.

Snapfish has pretty good prices, but I have three problems with the service for me:

1. They will ONLY send prints back...they won't develop and scan only
2. Their turnaround time really sucks (three weeks' avg. to see results online from Texas)
3. Their C-41 b&w is ALWAYS color-toned (the scans are monochrome, but the prints are not)

I've spent a total of one hour on three different phone calls to talk to a human regarding these issues, and never got past the "holding" queue. I've also sent them an email via their own troubleshooting portal, and didn't get a reply. So, I got what I paid for...extremely inexpensive processing and printing.
