scratches on black chrome m

anyone have any suggestions for fixing/covering scratches on a black chrome m-7 body?

Those aren't scratches, they are character marks.

Don't worry about them. It's called "character" and shows you use the thing.

OK, joking aside - no, no real idea. Yet. Mine has a few little nicks and scratches, seems all the talk about the black chrome not being as robust is probably quite right.
The finish looks the same shade/brightness as the semi-gloss acrylic paint that Humbrol make for modelling. I have some of that somewhere around, maybe a dab of that would cover up some of the worst transgressions. I'm actually thinking of trying that on my Red dot and the white writing - at the moment they're covered by leco tape but with handling the tape slides around a bit and leaves a sticky residue, so I may just paint them out.....

Have you tried black felt tip marker? It may work as a temporary fix as it does with the brass showing on a black paint cam. I do not think black chrome is less durable just wears differently compared to chrome or black paint after all a scratch is a scratch.
