Looking at all the nice rigs here I noticed something that caused me a little concern. Looking at most of the cameras shown here there are two screws in the front next to the slow speed selector and under the rangefinder window near the rewind knob. My IIIF RD doesn't have them. Why do some do and some don't?

Here is mine, I've had it since 1963 and don't feel like it has or had ever been serviced. Maybe yours was recovered and they didn't put holes in the new cover.

Maybe I wasn't clear. The screws on are the front on the top cover. Yours does not have them. This one does...

Leica ltm bodies had these screws including 2 on the back through the IIIc and maybe a few early IIIf's.
Some even had 3 screws while others are like yours. My IIIf RD only has the 2 on the body shell near the bottom..

Harry, that's not a IIIf you are showing. It is a IIIc. The IIIc should look just as yours does, with the screws where they are.

Thanks for the clarity! My initial reaction was I had ended up with a Leica copy.
