Shamefully, I can't remember who this proud lady is, nor the sculptor, but I think it's probably in the V&A in London.
PS - Apple's reverse image search says it's a bust of Benjamin Franklin by Jean-Antoine Houdon. That's quite some bust, Benjamin!

There was a time when I seriously thought about buying this statue, which is a full-sized and beautifully executed copy of a famous statue from a temple in Nara, Japan (now in Kyoto, I believe). Only three problems - It cost $3500; it was 1.5 metres tall and I had nowhere in my house to place it for display and; ................................................................................ my wife. 😆

To sit before much as one would sit before a poster at a bus stop is amazing. The Dutch are quite calm about it. I was immensely moved by it. It is immense, it is impressive. To think that someone could use powders in oils and pastes spread across a piece of cloth to achieve the emotions of this painting astounds me.
Addendum: I was seated next to a Dutchman. I asked if he could speak English. "Yes, of course." And I asked if he were not very proud of this Dutch fellow. "Well, sort of." The Dutch do not encourage bragging at all.
