Seeing Ruben's thread about memory cards for his new 4/3 camera reminded me that Im going shopping for a couple of 'Sandisk Extreme' SD cards for my M8 tomorrow.

A while ago there was a thread concerning SDHC cards not working in the M8 ... is this fact or fiction? I need to know as I have a gallery opening to shoot on Thursday night and don't want to buy anything tomorrow that may not work! I currently use a couple of 2GB cards but need more storage for the night as it's an extended opening and I don't want to get caught short.

Thanks in advance. :)

It used to be that SDHC did not work. With the newer firmware 2.xxxx SDHC is supported. There have been some reports of problems with cards over 8Gb. If you want to be 100% sure stick with Sandisk 4Gb cxards from a reputable supplier.

Thanks jaapv ... I thought that might have been the case!

I tend not to buy cards off the net/ebay ... there's a hi fi shop on the other side of town where I bought my last couple of Sandisk Extremes ... I think 4GB is an ideal size.

I've just acquired a Sandisk 4Gb SDHC card. It seems fine in the M8 but my reader will not read it. It transpired that older SD readers don't work with SDHC. I just took delivery of my new reader today.

I use the 8 GB Sandisk Extreme III cards and ATP Pro Max 8GB cards in the M8.2 with no problems.
