People don't get together often but there are quite a few active RFF members in the area.

I just meant if anyone from RFF lives there. I will be there for 3 days in early August. It would be cool to briefly meet and chat.

I would be up for it depending on what days you are here.

I don't live in Seattle but it's easy enough to get there from Portland. Depending on my schedule, I could possible meet you there.
What days will you be in Seattle?

I don't live there now but did in South Seattle few years ago....you might bring tripod to Alki Beach at dusk/night, and please post. It's a wonderful landscape showing Seattle from the west. Hit or miss though depending on humidity in air. Aug - Oct is a good time anywhere in the area.

As a warning, we're notoriously bad at organizing, slow in planning and generally turnout is ~50% of those who plan to show up.
I'm not trying to talk you out of meeting or be a downer, just want to set expectations as some people are thrown off by the way it tends to go.
Do you know where are you staying? It may be best to find somewhere close by.

I used to live in Seattle too, Raid, and still not so far away. Psychologically farther from Seattle to here than from here to Seattle.
There are several RFF members claiming Seattle as home territory.

Woot Woot!!
Would love to meet up. What are your dates?
I have monday and tuesday off the first week of August.
I live in West Seattle. If Alki at Sunset is the idea It would be easy for me to make it.

We can exchange specifics via msg.
I will not have a rental car, so my mobility will be limited.
Best Time: may be on Sunday afternoon AUG 9.

I will be at Point C. Is there something nice in the neighborhood where we could meet for some coffee or diner maybe?

Sunday afternoon on August 9th would work out for me. I can either drive up from Portland or take the bus up there. The bus lets me off within walking distance of the Convention Center.
Looking forward to meeting you Raid.

How about the Pine Box?? It's about 5 or 6 blocks up the hill (corner of Melrose and Pine). They are open 1100 - 0200 on Sundays.

In addition, if you are (dare I say it?) a Starbucks fan, you should make sure you stop by the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, just up the hill from you (at Melrose and Pike):
