The Nikon F3 I got very recently from Dimitri looks almost new, while this second F3 shows that it has been used, with some brassing, a small ding on the finder, but no dents or scratches. It came with MD4, 50f1.8, 28f3.5, and SB-16 flash. The price of this kit was about the same as the mintish F3 body with 50f1.4. I hope to sell off the 28mm lens and the flash to recoup some dollars. The MD4, I can see why so many like it on the F3. It feels great to hang on to.

No, I'm good for lenses. Got 28, 35, several 50's including micro, and tele-zoom. I know there are other lenses but I'm not so interested.

Here is a shot of the F3's with the extra 28 and flash.

Hi Earl, I have a Domke f2. (I think that's what it's called.)

Peter, I already have a 28f2.8.

The F3 was built to take punishment. This one can go to IRAQ and come back in one piece. Congrats!

Frank,
You got some great gear. The F3 is a system body. You *got* to try the other finders, like the waist level one with your 28mm, and the 6x one with your macro lens, or even the plain one for greater magnification. And, of course, add a few long primes :)

I do have a question for you. As I never handled a leica, how does my F3 'feel' compare to your leicas?

Dimitri, the F3 feels very Leica M -like. The Pentax MX feels like Leica screw mount.

Peter, I'll have to test them I guess. The flash can definitely go.

The F3 is an all-time great camera. I use mine, mostly use the F3AF with a DE-3 on it. "Almost" the same as an F3HP. I also have two of the last F3HP's, one SN just under 2M, the other just over 2M. Bought together.

But- for the Nikon SLR that feels closest to a Leica... The F2.

Pretty similar.

Roughly the same baseplate size, shutter release coaxial with the advance lever, shutter speed dials in the same place. Shutter release feels different from mechanical Ms, though, because it's mechanical and has short travel.

So it doesn't feel odd carrying them both and going from one to the other.
