Hi,
Over the past couple of years I've become more inclined to limit myself to natural light. I don't feel it's necessarily better, sometimes off-camera fill flash is what's needed. But, I'd rather teach myself to find better light and to do that I have to see it. I've found a painted gray wood cube to help much in seeing both the light direction and contrast ratios. Some folks like an egg, I like the directionality of a cube. I've got one that has an extra edge as well. What techniques do you use to find YOUR light?

(the real cube is much smaller!).
