Seeking CV 35/2.5 P1 (LTM) Hood Options

Subject line says it all.

I really like the build of this lens, and she's given me some nice pics as well.

But I lack any hood at all. To use a filter, I bouhgt a little flat screw in cap, since the cap won't fit over the filter.

Ideally, I'd love a 43mm metal vented hood with its own cap, since I use the lens mostly on an M6 (silk shutter burn worries).

But I'd even take the little screwin short "hood" so I can fit the regular cap over the filter.

Or maybe a rubber hood? But how much would such a beast obscure the 35mm FL's (.58 M6TTL and Bessa R).

And I'm willing to consider any other options.

Thanks all!

if you want the original hood, CameraQuest has it for $29.

There's a link to CQ off the RFF home page.
And Cameraquest also sells the CV front lens cap that sits on that $29 hood. Great little hood BTW.

Is this the American Eagle 43mm vented lens hood for $7.95?

Wow, I don't know how I might have missed this in the past.

What CV cap fits over this hood (presuming it's the right hood).

Scott, the same CV cap that came with the lens fits on the CV hood. The hood is a screw-in type, non-vented, cylindrical. IIRC, it was about 10mm long.

Scott, you should get the original Voigtlander hood for your P. I use one for my own P and it cuts down flare and prevent your fingers from touching the front element. The lens cap will fit the hood just fine like what Justin said. Cosina should never had discontinue it. A really great little 35mm!

It is so nice that I have only used it twice! It is now sitting in my dry cabinet. 🙂

I do think of getting another to replace the one I sold a long time ago. However, I bought mine when prices were still low, and it's hard to find one for a similar price nowadays.

Peter, if you do think of selling yours, please let me know. 🙂

I will keep that in mine if I want to sell it. But it is such a nice len! Unless I get bitten by the Zeiss Biogon 35mm/2.0 bug. Must fight the temptation of the Dark Side of RF! I am a shooter not a collector! 😛

You collector, you! 😉

You using the Ultron all the time now?

Justin - one sold here recently for US$170.00...

I am using the Ultron and PII! The P is so rare it would be a waste to destroy its beautiful black finish! The small P is so well made and dense in the hand! This lens is the only lens other than my spare black Ultron that are for fondling purposes. So what that makes me? A fondling shooter? 😛

Oh I didn't know that you have a PII as well! To be honest, I only got the PI because I don't like tabbed lenses, but I like small lenses (isn't that what RF photography is supposed to be about? 🙂 ). I was just really lucky that the PI was still around when I was buying!

Scott: The oblong lens hood that is for the cv 25/4 will fit right on your 35/2.5. Only problem is you'll see a bit of it in the viewfinder. I just imagine what's behind it.
