Leica LTM Seeking opinions on camera

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
It is beautiful, and looks the part. Haven't priced such to know if that seems high or is in line with the condition described. Looks better than most.

The floorplate looks way too shiny, and the finish of the latch does not appear to match the rest of the bare metal fittings.

Yeah the base plate looks like NOS, while the rest of the camera shows wear from regular use. Odd that this isn’t mentioned if the seller has owned it since the 70s.

I remember looking at these cameras a few months ago and recall these same photos and that specific shiny bottom plate. I messaged the seller and was told it was not the original bottom plate as it was switched with another old barnack leica for his dad as he was a collector and wanted a older one or something.

Note that this was like 5 months ago, but when I saw the 6th photo I instantly remembered that I messaged about that same thing.

If it is a collector camera you are wanting, it is a converted camera and there are lots of changes from when it was original. The whole rangefinder is not original to the camera, the whole camera was probably repainted when the conversion was done, and someone swapped the bottom plate.
I think the price is high for even an all-original Leica II, in worn condition.

Apart from a few obscure ones there is no premium on conversions.

Price way too high in the UK for a black and nickel III + Elmar...mind you I don't know what they sell for in the US.

Have couple of converted black Barnacks myself, paint looks normal to me and serial no. lettering suggests postwar I to III conversion I'd say. But the price is waaaaaay too high, forget it.
