Reuters bans submissions of photos originally shot in raw form, requiring in-camera jpeg. Maybe an over-reaction against excessive modification of original image in post? Consequent "loss of truth"?
The jpeg of course is also "more immediate", possibly uploaded directly from the scene/event without delay. More akin to the photojournalist mailing his freshly-shot film back to the editorial office.
