Sekonic L-558R Question

Hi all,

Recently I picked up a Sekonic L-558 from another photographer and I have a question about the spotmeter. It seems that no matter where I point the spotmeter to, it gives me a ridiculous reading at 22EV and drops to 10EV when I point it at a strong light! I am wondering if the meter is broken or if there is a hidden function that I am not aware of. Thank you in advance for your help!

i have th same meter for a couple of months now and I'm pretty sure there is no hidden function causing this. sounds it liek it is broken.
As a matter of fact mine is giving me an error-6 message a bit too often. Seems to be broken circuit board.
Apart from that it is an awesome meter. really the best I ever had.
