selenium good against cancer?

Just read this article, about hemp oil, and found selenium on the list..... should I still wear gloves when selenium printing :bang: ?

I hope it is good for you as I've been taking a selenium supplement for over the last fifteen years. It is meant to fight the 'free radicals' that can cause cancer. Apparently in some countries where the soil is rich in selenium the cancer rates are low.

I'm another that's been taking low dose selenium for years. I live in an area that's low in the element and grow much of my own food. A friend who raises goats in the area has to add Se to their feed to keep them healthy.

Have also been taking extra vitamin D as advised by my doctor. The grey wet west coast doesn't provide much sunshine this time of year.

The stuff in the article is true, but taking a selenium supplement isn't really going to do much. It really needs to be in whole foods. Hemp oil is an interesting but promising tool. Sodium Bicarbonate is 100% anti-tumerous (I have experience with this). The other things that definitely do work is apricot kernels or other sources of amygdalin (b17) and grapeseed extract.

As far as prevention goes, cut out all sugar from your diet, convert to a paleo style diet eating lots of fatty and lean meats and vegetables, buy organic, eat nothing refined. Convert your own energy system over from using carbs as energy to using fat as energy (ketosis). Exercise often and lift heavy weights regularly. Doing this will not only prevent cancer (especially the sugar bit), but it will reverse many other chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension too.

Excellent synopsis. My rule is: if it comes in a printed package it is absolutely not good for me (the exception being some nuts). And walk. Miles every day. I did 8 today.
