Self made external finder

While collecting parts to build my own 28mm finder, I realized someone on ebay is selling selfies for various focal lengths, like 21, 25 and 28mm. Do not know anything about quality but for the price there's no much to loose. I'm intentionally not naming seller because it's not my business but anyone can search ebay for "external finder" and look themselves. Just wanted to share as normally high quality finders also cost accordingly but sometimes convenience for reasonable price is worth more than excellence for a fortune.

I've got some non-working cameras so I can enjoy journey myself 🙂

a good start is to use disposable camera's finders to get accostumed to tilt and shift calibration and exact framing prior to play with lenses...

Thanks for advice! Have to look around if any lab have processed disposables...they aren't that common here, but let's check.

That wooden finder is nice! Looks like it would work w/ other lenses too. Maybe you can get Luigi to make a special case for it.

Mainly I'm scratching head on adjustment "gears", if 28mm is forgiving enough I can live just slipping finder into shoe without any means of adjusting it.

well you don't need adjusting gears, just two eccentic screws in a gate should be enough.

When I'll take apart P&S I'll have idea how finder assembly looks like, if it's mounted as one piece or I'll have separate lenses.

It depends on the model, some are one piece some others are two lenses (in that case take mesurements first).
