Is there any way of using a self-timer mode on the RD1?

There is no built in timer. You'll have to use a screw-in accessory timer device that goes into the shutter button.

I've been doing this....it's so ridiculous to me that they chose to not include this feature. I mean, I got this little buzzing 1950's doodad on top of a modern digital camera. At least people smile in the pictures.
$15 should get you one.

I've got one of those ancient Kodak spring-powered self-timers that connect to the plunger from a cable release...that is...if I would ever need a self-timer on a camera.

Do you have any links to these "add on´s"?
what is for example a 1950's doodad?
or a spring-powered self-timer?
thanks

Many thanks for the pictures and descriptions, in fact i am looking forward to trying one and the whole idea of a clockwork solution seems to make sense with the semi analogue RD1.
(mind you, having included it in the software would of course been much better)
