Sell off SLRs?

Rick, You must be on something. I would sooner go back to the Pentax K-1000. Actually before I was enlightened about Nikon's forward and backward lens compatability I was content with my K-1000. But the lust for AP "Auto" overcame me and I've been a devoted Nikon man every since. Life seemed much simpler back in the days of my 1st FE.
jvx, I didn't even get into my AF stuff. I've also got an F-4 and N90s. I don't think I'll be letting either of those go. What you said about the FM3A makes alot of scence to me. I should put that camera and all the paperwork in it's original box and vacuum seal it to preserve freshness. It is curently flawless and to be honest I get more satisfaction shooting with my old FE or FE-2.

Help me decide. I've enjoyed using my Bessa R so much that I'm thinking of parting with most of my MF Nikon equipment. I have a nice collection of Nikkor lenses and 4 MF bodies (2 FEs, 1 FE-2 and a new FM3A) that hardly see any use. I hate to sell this stuff off at a loss and with the digital revolution I know I'd never get near what I paid for it. With Nikon getting out of the film camera bussiness for the most part, would you expect the value of this equipment to be on a re-bound?
I had exactly the same question you did about a year ago after buying and falling in love with a used R2. I ended up selling almost all of my "automated" Nikon kit (AF zooms, AF cameras, etc...) in order to finance "rounding out" my RF kit. I kept an FM3a, Sigma Mini-Wide 28/2.8 Ai, Nikkor 35/2 Ai, Nikkor 50/1.8 AF-N, Nikkor 105/2.8 AF-D Micro, Nikkor 300/4 Ai, and SB-28. I sold off 2 F80 bodies+battery packs and half a dozen zooms.

I'm facing the same dilemma. Last year I sold all my AF-film gear, after I decided on using what's essentially a 2 piece kit. On the one hand a dSLR and on the other a fully mechanical RF. Between them they get everything done that you throw at them.

What I didn't sell at that time was my 6x6 Bronica SLR. They were discontinued in 2004. That put a downward pressure on what they bring 2nd hand in 2005 and prices have dropped further ever since. It's haunting me all the time; the longer I keep it the less I'll get for it..

I just can't decide what to do. Perhaps I should just try to work out a trade with someone.

After some consideration I'm starting to think maybe it's the rangefinder revolution and not so much the digital one that has driven down film SLR values. Listen to all of you who have parted with your slrs to go with rangefinders. Either way, I think I'll hang on to my mirror slapping wonders a while longer. Thanks to all who've responded.
