I was told you could not sell fotos on Flicka ?
Nope, you can. They don't permit you to sell them from Flickr directly. If someone approaches you to buy them, that's OK.

Sometimes it comes down to things that we as photographers would never think about - but an editor does. For example, background colors, or the use of space - magazine covers and full-page spreads need to have room around the main subject for text and the title of the article or magazine, etc - and ours just happen to fit with the layout the editor is looking for - not as much to do with how wonderful our photos are as we might think!
Years ago I did some editorial photography, and the trick was then to make sure I had different compositions with space for things like this. Variation and some open space is worth thinking of when editing series for upload.
Thanks for starting the thread, I will definitely consider using flickr this way myself!

This is interesting, really.
I have spent some time the past year on scanning and roughly sorting out all my photography for the past 15-20 years. I have had plans on how to publish it, but if this thing about photos being indexed on flickr is as good as it sounds, then I will consider using flickr as my base system.
There are also very easy ways of integrating a flickr set or stream in your own webpage. I do not remember exactly, but I think it is just a tag that can be integrated in any site or layout.
As I see it, flickr is really big and easy to use now, and it will probably continue to be the market leader in this segment. Also, having millions of users that will not accept any substantial changes in the model, it might be a stable platform in the years to come...
